It's been a while. I am Takuma Mitsumoto from the Faculty of Science and Engineering. In this report, I would like to write freely. Now, take a look. (ご無沙汰しております、理工学部の光本琢真です。今回のレポートは自由に書かせていただこうと思います。それでは、ご覧あれ。)

Of course, we should all attend. In the first half of the lectures, there are two types of classes: ‘TCU-Academic English (Level 1~3)’ and ‘Understanding Design-Study Group’. Academic English classes are like the pre-class sessions at TCU. However, since grades are determined by in-class tests like writing and speaking, make sure not to let my guard down. Even so, this class is more fun than Japanese English one because class teachers prepare various games and activities to improve our skills. Understanding Design is a class on group work. This class is graded based on reports, but it's also an opportunity to talk with students from other departments (TCU). So, we have to participate actively. (当たり前ですが、出席しましょう。前半の授業は2種類あり、「TCU-Academic English (Level 1~3) 」と「Understanding Design-Study Group」です。Academic English は都市大で受ける事前授業に近い感じです。ただ、成績はwritingやspeakingなどの授業内テストで決まるので油断しないようにしましょう。それでも、先生方は様々なゲームやアクティビティを用意してくださるので、日本で受ける英語の授業よりは楽しいです。Understanding Designはグループワークの授業です。この授業はレポートで成績を付けますが、別学科の人(TCU)と話せる機会でもあるので、積極的に参加しましょう。)

 Well, enough of this boring stuff. Next, I'll write about things outside of class. Honestly, it’s so busy I can’t keep up with everything which I want to do. (さて、退屈な内容なこれくらいにして、授業外のことについて書きたいと思います。正直やりたいことが多すぎるくらいには充実しています。)

It's super fun! There are many stores around the ECU (But it’s not closed). My favorite place is The Galleria Shopping Centre in Morley. There are many famous shops locally (ex: Kmart, Coles, Woolworths, ALDI) and DAISO. Like the pioneers, Australia supermarkets have a wide selection, so I think you won't have any trouble finding food here. But be careful not to buy too much. Below is a list of cheap items based on my own personal opinions and biases. (めちゃ楽しいです（笑）。ECUの周りにはいろいろなお店があります(近くはないけど) 。お気に入りはモーリーのガレリアショッピングセンターです。ガレリアには現地では有名なお店 (例: ケーマート, コールス, ウールワース, アルディ) やダイソーなどがあります。先駆者の人に同じく、オーストラリアのスーパーは品ぞろえが良いのでここに来れば食品には困らないと思います。ただし、買いすぎには気を付けましょう。下に独断と偏見で考えた安いものリストを載せておきます。)

It’s meaning in life. I have used it since last month because I like weight training. Sadly, this gym will close during my study abroad period. But available for use under a 3,600-yen contract for two months! It has more equipment than TCU and is very comfortable. By the way, I also bought protein powder in Galleria. It was very expensive… (生きがい。筋トレが好きなので先月から使ってます。悲しいことに、ジムは留学期間中に閉鎖してしまうらしいです。なので、2か月3600円の契約で利用することができました! 器具は都市大よりも充実していて、とても快適です。ちなみに、ちゃんとガレリアでプロテインも買いましたよ。高かったけどね…)

A.  何でもは言い過ぎ。調理器具や衣類などの生活に欠かせないものはちゃんと売ってます。ただし、個人的にはかゆいところに手が届かないようなところもあります。例えば「変圧器」。ここでは、変圧器はアウトプットされる電圧が各機器に適した値にできるものを指します。ネットやKmartなどで売られるプラグの出力は基本200~220Vで出力されます。つまり、日本の製品をそのまま指してしまうと過電圧で壊れてしまう恐れがあると言えます (日本の製品はほとんど100~120Vしか受け付けないものが多い)。プラグをとりあえず現地やネットで買えばいいやと思っていたそこのあなた、もし日本から電気機器を持ち込みたいのであれば必ず定格電圧、プラグやアダプタの「出力電圧」を確認しましょう(戒め)。3DSやアイホンは問題ないですよ（笑）。

A.  そうでもないと思います。なんせ今の日本国内で買えるお米の値段も高いので（笑）。それに私が買ったほぼ日本米(厳密には台湾米?)は1か月たっても半分消費したかくらいなので、毎週パンを買うのとほぼ変わんないと思います。なので、米派の人はケチなこと言わずに日本米に近いものを買いましょう。ちなみに日本食に関しては正直、知見不足なところがあるので次回までに不二マートという日本食を売ってる店に偵察しに行きます。
